Benefit Consultant (Former Employee) says

"They will do their best to mess with your commissions. Management and above only care about your performance or you’re an outcast. Horrible place to workGood benefitsManagement could care less about you. Co—workers will stab you in the back for a sale."

Accountant (Former Employee) says

"By far the worst environment Ive worked in. I just recently quit after a long year of dealing with harassment and discrimination. I’ve had issues from the supervisor screaming at my face to the boss telling me if I didn’t like it to go elsewhere. They set unrealistic deadlines to a point where they stress their employees out and they end up sick or simply quit. They have weekly meetings discussing drama and who they fire. I’ve been denied overtime but others that are favorited work 70 hours a week. I’ve also been denied for a day I requested off a month prior, my supervisor said I was obligated to work 40 hrs or else. This was the same supervisor who puts everyone’s business out in the open and is very unprofessional. I’ve been put into stressful positions and always asked for help and they say they will but just let you drown in the end. Save yourself and do NOT work here I would have rather worked at mcdonalds. No pros at allA lot of cons"

Care Coordinator (Former Employee) says

"There's little to no room for growth and if by chance you are promoted don't expect a huge salary bump. Care coordinators at competitor insurance companies make more money than managers. Administration is a joke as well. Not a great company to work for if you're building a career. It's literally a stepping stone while getting an advanced degree."

LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) says

"Very rude to me would not return phone calls. When I was told available for a patients no return calls. At times no one would answer the phone. After so many calls I was once directed to HR this lady was very rude. You ask me people who are in higher up position need to take a public relations class so they can learn how to talk to people. Was very dissatisfy with the way I was treated. The rating should be 0for this company should be 000000"

Provider Relations Representative (Former Employee) says

"Extremely disappointing. Management was horrible and they never promoted. Nothing was ever resolved. Lots of favoritism and lots of unhappy Physicians"

Benefit Consultant (Former Employee) says

"Incompetent management sleazy practices practices that go against the center for Medicare and Medicaid services guidelines incompetent human resources I expect you to take a person off of a good insurance plan to put them on their plan"

Field Case Manager (Former Employee) says

"Wellcare hired quite a few temporary nurses with the promise that if you worked hard they would try to hire as many of us as possible. After we helped them meet their quota, they told us that they would not be keeping any of us. I was so disappointed. I put in a lot of extra time with no extra pay. Such a horrible way to treat people."

Credentialing Specialist (Former Employee) says

"I wouldn't wish this place on my worse enemy. Run, do not walk, to the nearest exit. You have been warned. You will work your butt off, and they will fire you for no reason. And laugh as you pack your stuff."

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"They do not appreciated their employees. Not enough raises to their employees. Awful place to work. Long hours and not enough time with your family. Ok training. They do not understand that people with Children have emergencies with their children. If you have to leave you may not have a job the next day."

Member Resolution Specialist (Current Employee) says

"There is a ton of favoritism and management is unfair. The company has recently been bought out and things are changing faster than anyone of them can keep up with. I suggest you wanted till after the merger to make sure you still have a job."

Benefit Consultant (Former Employee) says

"I was told that I would receive lead support. The leads were given to people who were friends with management. You are only paid $500 for car allowance and that amount is taxed heavily, leaving you to pay for gas and extreme wear and tear on your car and miles. Office environment is messy and everyone seems to be miserable, unhappy and hate their jobs."

Case Manager (Former Employee) says

"The worst company training I have ever experienced in all my 30 plus years as a Registered Nurse. Please read the reviews!!! Contract Nurses are not part of the culture and there is no job stability. The upper management is not involved with what goes on in the Fort Myers Welcome office. In fact, Nurses are pushed through like cattle except they are treated worse! Fort Myers office is in the ghetto with locked entry ways and rooms. Staff is dishonest and rude protecting their culture. On a scale of 1-10 it’s a ZERO.NoneToo many!"

Nurse (Current Employee) says

"Wellcare is all about smoke and mirrors. Everyone smiles and acts supportive, when you need help, no one in management is available. Career advancement is for those who are liked- not based on work performance or how much you know. It is challenging to work for a company who supports poor work ethics and when you discuss the challenges you are ignored. The only perk is you can work from home"

Certified Coding Research Analyst (Current Employee) says

"the management there is has NASTY personalities, they lack integrity, copious amount of brown-nosing, management extremely incompetent and that's why more than half of each day is spent in meetings.None"

Field Care Manager for Medicaid Member (Former Employee) says

"Too high expectations, micromanagement, treats nurses like children, Punishes if don't meet expectations. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. They put RN's in a position to potentially lose their licenses; They make Care Managers who have had no experience with Behavioral Health manage people who are suicidal and have no idea how to deal with them. You HAVE to work a lot of overtime just to get work done. If you are not management....you are nothing.Work from HomeMicromanagement, unorganized"

Concurrent Review Nurse (Former Employee) says

"Stressful workload, poor management, poor morale. Managers are lazy and put the overflow on the workers, who are already drowning in work. Run don't walk far away from this company.Quitting timeSubstandard benefits"

Pending (Current Employee) says

"This company is a joke! Not only do they treat the members & providers like dirt, but they treat their employees just as bad. I'm sure WellCare Health Plans, Inc. can place 1st in 'Worst Places To Work" every year. WellCare Health Plans, Inc. exemplifies qualities of how not to run a business as well as the 'Appeal to Tradition' fallacy. Every technological entity that you will touch at WellCare Health Plans , Inc. is outdated. Furthermore, this is the least innovative workplace i've ever encountered. During my time here, I had the opportunity to witness shoddy praxis, which in turn taught me to take the inverse approach with future job duties. Moreover, being in the most minimal thought-provoking environment, my collective intelligence may have dropped by 1 or 2 IQ points. In fact, I did establish a passel of relationships with co-workers from various departments that I miss conversing with, but this was merely not enough to alter my sentiments of how much I loathed working there. The management at WellCare Health Plans , Inc. was subpar. I could personally go to ANY fast food restaurant chain and find better management. Especially the management in Provider Operations. You can learn from them. Learn how to be unproductive, unprepared & unprofessional. *If you’re a WellCare employee with a UAM manager…good luck!None lolPolitics, discrimination, Uam"

Clerk (Former Employee) says

"Horrible mgmt not good horrible horrible horrible horrible. I would not recommend this company to anyone especially with the horrible mgmt. Insensitive."

Customer service representative (Former Employee) says

"The place was not great it was in Paris, TX the facility was infested with bed bugs, the area was uncomfortable to work in. I alerted the managers of the problem and the wouldn’t fix it. They jus kept working in the bed bugs. Also for a 8 hour shift we we given only a 30 min lunch break which we were being paid at $9 an hour. Just terrible leadership and organization.Get 40 hours a weekNot beneficial to regular working employees that aren’t apart of management."

Provider Relations Representative (Former Employee) says

"Management is a joke and the culture is very high school . More job responsibilities with no additional pay All departments doesn’t know what they are doing Unless you are a snitch There’s no job advancements Systems are old and no proper procedures only excel sheets with no guidance If you asked a question continuous you are looked as incompetent of your knowledge I don’t know how this company is in business. They have high turn of rate due to their high school behaviors No actual training like other companies Stressful stressful work load that’s why they are continuously hiringPay flexibilityOld system . No proper guidelines, high school environment stressful work load management is laughable"

Ellen, A Welcare Customer says

"Unfortunately, I contracted Wellcare for my Medicare Part D coverage in 2020. I have nothing but problems with the company, they got everything wrong, their Customer Care, iafter waiting hours to get someone, is the worst that I have experienced in my life. I had 2 escalations with supervisors and they never followed up with me. Wellcare never reported to Medicare that I had a Medicare Part D Plan. I cancelled my Wellcare plan by fax on Dec 29, 2020 , exactly as I was told how I need to do it and they have still not cancelled it. I also cancelled the draw on my checking and they still billed me for January 2021. It will be like pulling teeth to get it back from Wellcare but I will. DO NOT ENTER INTO A DRAW ON YOUR ACCOUNT WITH WELLCARE>>>EVER!! Pitiful company...Avoid them at all costs!"

Bruce says

"We had just switched my mother to Wellcare from United healthcare January 1st 2021. it is now the middle of January I have yet to be able to fill one of her prescriptions. I have called them 15 times and anytime spend no less than a half hour sometimes over an hour on the phone with them. Nothing is accomplished yet. As of now I have just switched back to United healthcare and I'm filing a grievance with them with the New York State Attorney general. My advice is stay away from this company they are terrible. I have dealt with insurance companies and I know it's not always easy but this is the worst company the customer service reps do not even speak English customer service is terrible and they don't even call you back and they don't do anything even when they say they already took care of it. They should be sued and taken out of business they are not a reputable company by any means"

Cholotto@yahoo.com says

"Pay for insurance Dr, specialist, hospitals Won't take the insurance Say Wellcare doesn't pay The cstr in a predicament Wellcare does nothing about it Upper mgmt ignores all issues Leaves the cstr in bad life threatening medical situations Call to get an resolution & they threaten to drop you Paying for insurance that doesn't work Wellcare takes the $$$ & does nothing to fix"

Wayne LaRue says

"I retired in November. In order to us my former employer’s health spending account (HSA) I have to purchase Medicare supplement part D through Aon. Aon only uses a very few companies to provide Part D coverage. We have spent many many hours on the phone doing everything from initial enrollment to trying to get mail order prescriptions filled. Others have stated the language barrier in dealing with customer support. They are correct. They claim to be able to speak English but, good luck. A number of times the wrong word is used to describe a situation. We have several times asked to speak to someone who speaks English. Each time they refuse and go right on talking even though we are not understanding them. In the last incident my wife was on the phone trying to get prescriptions released that our doctor has prescribed for her for years. She was told A Wellcare pharmacist must review the prescription before it can be released. The web site, texts, and emails have incorrect and conflicting information on them. I called Medicare and my wife filed a formal complaint with them. I would advise anyone having trouble with this company to do the same. The Medicare representative was very sympathetic and said the complaint constituted a cause for switching providers. We did no do it due to the HSA. I would recommend anyone who does not have to deal with this company. DON’T. If you are struggling with them file a complaint with Medicare."

ORVILLE C ROSE says

"I NOW HAVE 2 CHECKS SENT TO MY PO BOX THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO MY COMPANY. $387.04 $290.31 I WOULD ASSUME THAT THE CORRECT PROVIDER WOULD LIKE TO GET THEIR CHECKS."

Charles Simmons says

"Been on hold for over 5 hours. Disconnected 2X's. Customer service is none existent. My insurance agent warned me. I did not listen. Make it 7 hours and still holding. Yes I have called back and actually talk to someone then they put me on hold."

Jim says

"While overall I am satisfied with the reimbursement amounts on the drugs I need I am not happy with how this company operates. At least twice in the last year they have sent a notice by mail that my bill was not paid and my coverage would be terminated. This bill is charged to my credit card once a month. I pay my bills every month and have a credit score well over 800. So, on the phone with customer service to someplace in a non English speaking country. I had an hour long call with 2 different people I could hardly understand. I got my wife on the phone because she can hear better than me. She had difficulty understanding them also. Result? I think I got the bill paid with the credit card I have always used for this but they cannot explain why the monthly charge to the card was not accepted. Put customer service in an English speaking country!! My other gripe is the too automated system they have. I take several maintenance drugs and if I don't watch I end up with way too many pill bottles. Also I will receive letters in the mail saying they won't fill a certain prescription for some reason but that bottle of pills comes in the mail the next day. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing obviously."
